The bridge crosses over an environmental hazard on the 5th hole located at Heritage Shores Golf Club in Bridgeville DE.  I think it’s the 5th hole. The 9-hole women’s group name the hazard, The Beast” because of the difficulty in getting a shot over it.

When to Hold’em ..When To Fold’em

Yours truly gets to play on a golf cart path bridge which saw about 2 inches of water on its deck, during some flooding a short time ago.  I needed something/someone to show the size of the bridge and realized my wife would resist walking in the water to be my model(size reference object).  So instead of self-inflicted grief  by explaining, suggesting, asking, requesting, and finally just begging my wife(why I needed it done), I decided to do it myself.  I gave her my camera and rolled up my pant legs.

The short story above is similar to a song by Kenny Rogers called The Gambler.  According to wikipedia.com, the song is often characterized as a metaphor for life in that you need to know when to stand your ground (when to hold ‘em) and when to retreat (when to fold ‘em).

My grandson, Naji, is too young to drive a golf cart but at his age he’s having just as much fun sitting behind the wheel.

Naji, is practicing with his new putter on a practice area in the Heritage Shores Golf Club.  His grandfather had to spring for the putter, a driver and a 6 iron because at 24 months of age Naji doesn’t have much money to spend.

Did Tiger Woods get his start this way?

Yes, what a beautiful day for golf.  Even with the good weather my score for 9 holes was 68, not good.  My problem is inconsistency, one great shot followed by 2 awful swings.

Next week, I’ll be back out there again, trying to do better. This golf thing is like life, trying to do better.
