Margo shows off a piece of fabric which will be used to re-cover kitchen chairs. They will then match the custom curtains she designed and fabricated herself. I’m guessing we saved at least $2000 by her initiative. Notice how she placed tassels on bottom edge of curtains. Is she creative or what?

I made this dish some while ago. It is a rip off of a spinach and shrimp salad served at AppleBee’s. This is a healthy dish of plagiarism.

In my new community of Heritage Shores, located in Bridgeville DE, I’m waiting for the trees to grow. The community is built upon old farm land. Since the developer wanted an attractive place for the homes and golf course, he had to plant hundreds of trees. The photograph above shows some of the young trees planted. Even that small hill in the background is man-made.
In my old Cherry Hill neighborhood, we had old mature maple and oak trees. Trees so old that we spent thousands of dollars cutting a few down, which we felt were a threat to our home.

Photograpy by E.W. Faircloth

My wife, Margo, and I drove 75 miles, the other night, up to New Castle DE to an Italian restaurant named Polidoro Italial Grill. We had lunch there previously on a drive back from New Jersey. On this occasion, it was not the dining experience we wanted but the dancing. We were told they had salsa nights on the 2nd Saturday, and 3rd Friday of each month. It’s true. The floor was crowded and the music, loud. It was similar to a place in Philadelphia called Brazil’s. Most folks arrive after 10:30 p.m. and by 12:00 a.m. the floor is too crowded to have fun dancing as partners. Next time we go, we’ll have dinner before dancing as the food is very good and is served up until 11:00 p.m. The crowd on floor seemed to be well representative of many ethnic, cultural and age groups. I would definitely suggest this place for dancing. Go early, if you do.

You may not know it yet but The Zumba Workouts are coming to your neighborhood. Since the women in my family are always ahead of everybody else they get to practice this workout in the privacy of our own home.
In the beginning, there was nothing. Then there was dieting, walking, jogging, aerobics, kick boxing, cardio, yoga and now there’s ZUMBA. Think of it as multi-level marketing being nurtured on gym floors around the nation. This is going to put Mary Kay, Tupperware, and Avon parties on hold. Certification and training programs means there’s money to be made. Zumbody’s going to get paid.
You may say “I’m too old for that”. Well, there’s Zumba Gold for mature self-respecting folks over 50.

A couple of weeks ago, I stopped by the local high school field to get a couple of football pictures. The players were much younger than high school kids. They were a part of Pop Warner football.
While shooting I thought about my grandson. He’s such athletic 2-year old. According to the Pop Warner mission statement, he would fit in well:
- To encourage and increase youth participation in football, cheerleading and dance.
- To ensure a safe and positive playing environment for all participants.
- To instill life-long values of teamwork, dedication and a superior work ethic in the classroom and on the playing field.
My grandson’s father can help him with his football education. His mother can help him with his foreign language(can you habla Espanol). I plan on being his golf pro and salsa teacher

Photography by Jon Falk
Here again is one of Jon Falk’s grandchildren. I’ve been painting for the past three days and I haven’t had time to shoot anything myself.
Thanks, Jon.

The wolf was angry.
‘Then I’ll huff and I’ll pff,
and I’ll blow your house in”.
And he did

Our online photography group was discussing the never ending upgrade and patch cycles with Windows computers, when Jon Falk gave overwhelming evidence to support his point of view. He stated that Macintosh computers don’t have the kinds of security/spam/virus/worms/spyware problems as PC’s. He pulls out all stops by showing a picture of his 4-year old grandson using a 4 year old Macintosh, which has not needed a zillion patches.
